About The Position

The Data Center Administrator is responsible for engineering the proper installation of all hardware within the corporate data centers with consideration of balancing available floor space, PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and DCiE (Data Center infrastructure Efficiency). The ability to work outside normal hours, when needed, is expected, and an on-call schedule is required in this position.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of Administration experience within a corporate data center space required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • 5 years of Data Center Administration preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Platforms may include, but are not limited to, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco WLC, Cisco Access Points, Dell Nutanix, Dell/EMC Storage platforms

Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage all data center monitoring solutions.
  • Assist with all IMACs (Install/Move/Add/Change) of data center hardware (Racks/PDUs/Network Hardware/Servers/Storage).
  • Accountable for the proper installation and documentation of all equipment and related cabling. Participate in audits related to this documentation.
  • Work with Facilities management to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission critical equipment, which includes stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, Batteries and associated systems, CRAC units and associated systems, pumps, and motors.
  • Manage data center asset information for asset control and end of life management.
  • Documentation of systems, procedures, and processes
  • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Assist vendors and infrastructure engineers to ensure the successful and complete installation of hardware into the data centers.
  • Manage capacity planning including but not limited to power audits, power configuration, and ensuring all equipment have redundant and adequate power supplied.
