Accounting Department The Accounting Department is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial information while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaboratively supporting the company’s strategic goals. The Accounting Department manages a broad range of functions, including financial reporting, treasury, forecasting, month-end close activities, financial systems, fixed assets, consolidations, and campus-specific financial oversight. By maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data, we enable informed decision-making and uphold ethical standards across all financial activities. We prioritize continuous improvement in processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Position Overview This position will be based out of our office in Denver, CO, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible). Vantage is looking for a responsible, resourceful, and detail-oriented Accountant to contribute to our accounting team. You will play a key role in the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closing processes. You will perform account analysis, journal entries and other internal controls to ensure compliance of our books for both our investment projects and ongoing operations. You will also assist in the preparation of certain financial reports, including internal and external financial reports, statutory filings and performance measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals and teams.
  • Efficient with Office 365 in a Windows environment.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with technology, including learning new financial systems and supporting process improvements.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and comfort maintaining clear and consistent financial documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the real estate/construction industry (preferred)
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual year‑end closings, including audit activities.
  • Assist with routine account reconciliations to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Support moving completed items into assets and making related ERP or subledger updates.
  • Prepare accruals and accrual entries for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Contribute to system improvement efforts and related enhancement initiatives.
  • Help maintain clear documentation and consistent processes to support accurate accounting
  • Record accrual and deferral entries as required.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in tracking project‑related costs and ensuring they are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare information for monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reports when needed.
  • Support asset moves by entering required updates in the ERP or subledger.
  • Assist with financial system improvements and help support new system implementations.
  • Take on other special projects from time to time as needed by the business
  • Help maintain accurate accounting documentation and support process consistency.
