Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Typically 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle preferred), Google Suite, advanced Excel skills.
  • Fluent in written and oral English.
  • Strong analytical skills & a deep understanding of manufacturing cost control concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & Sarbanes – Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed to meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end and year-end cost accounting close procedures.
  • Maintain standard costs, including setting and updating standard costs for material, labor, and overheads.
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing cost variances (Material/PPV, Labor, and Overheads), identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure effective inventory management, including cycle counts and other inventory adjustments.
  • Calculate and analyze inventory valuation, including excess and obsolescence (E&O) reserves.
  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations for all inventory accounts.
  • Support financial audits and ensure strict compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), GAAP, and internal controls (e.g., SOX).
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes with cost data and analysis.
  • Provide product costing information to support strategic pricing decisions and intercompany transfer pricing.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to understand costs and drive cost improvement initiatives.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and analysis as required by management.
