About The Position

· Records detailed logical and physical data models in the information repository and coordinates the publication and maintenance of these models. Ensures appropriate integration of models and designs across the enterprise. · Facilitates database design sessions and translates business requirements into logical and physical system designs for moderate to large complex projects. · Coordinates the physical database design and implementation process for moderate to largely complex projects. Designs the optimal data presentation environment for the customer and works with various reporting tools. · Coordinates with specific database performance monitoring and tuning tasks including the design of optimization and indexing schemes for moderate to large complex projects. · Develops, tests, and implements moderately complex ETL (extract, transformation, and load) routines. · Documents business requirements and essential functionality requirements for in-house developments and the selection of third-party applications. · Provides coordination for moderate to large complex projects through development of project work plans, recommendations for optimal utilization of resources, milestone tracking, and coordination of project team efforts. Keeps management and customers informed of progress and exceptions. · Coordinates the development and implementation of system backup, recovery, and support plans. · Addresses customer needs, manages expectations and ensures system-wide integration. · Participates in the technical review process of designs completed by other designers and serves as a mentor to junior designers. · Develops, documents, and delivers complex ad-hoc queries of production data as requested by business users. Consults with business users performing queries. · Maintains advanced understanding of industry application development methodologies, tools, and techniques. · Coordinates projects and understands the differences between On-line Transaction Processing and Decision Support systems and how to appropriately support the requirements and environments for each. This is a hybrid position requiring in-person presence once per quarter. Position may telecommute from any state in the United States except California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of database design, development, and business intelligence technologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL (structured query language).
  • Knowledge of information used in a healthcare environment and how healthcare data is produced, consumed, and transformed.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake) for real-time and batch data processing.
  • Knowledge of APIs to retrieve and integrate data from external systems.
  • Knowledge of developing APIs to provide data as a product.
  • Knowledge of programming languages Python and PySpark for data engineering tasks.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools, including both traditional (SSIS, Informatica) and cloud-native solutions (Azure Data Factory, Databricks).
