EY is seeking a Data Architecture Manager with a strong understanding of data and technology within the Life Sciences (Clinical (R D) and Commercial) sector, complemented by a solid track record of delivery. This individual will spearhead the design, development, and governance of our clients' data architectures, ensuring scalable, effective, and secure data solutions that align with business objectives and support data imperatives. As a Manager in Data Architecture, you will have the opportunity to lead transformative technology projects and programs that align with our organizational strategy to achieve impactful outcomes. You will provide assurance to leadership by managing timelines, costs, and quality, and lead both technical and non-technical project teams in the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions and infrastructure. Your teams will design and build scalable solutions for life sciences clients that unify, enrich, and derive insights from varied data sources across a broad technology landscape. You will help our clients navigate the complex world of modern data science, analytics, and software engineering. We'll look to you to provide guidance and perform technical development tasks to ensure data science solutions are properly engineered and maintained to support the ongoing business needs of our clients. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of one or more processes, solutions, and projects, with a focus on quality and effective risk management. You will drive continuous process improvement and identify innovative solutions through research, analysis, and best practices. You will apply your depth of expertise to guide others and interpret internal/external issues to recommend quality solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business Leads, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and IT teams) to define data requirements, design solutions, and implement data strategies that align with our clients' objectives.
  • Organize and lead workshops and design sessions with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and cross-functional partners, to capture requirements, understand use cases, personas, key business processes, brainstorm solutions, and align on data architecture strategies and projects.
  • Design and build solutions on AWS, Databricks, Snowflake.
  • Design conceptual, logical, physical layers of a data solution
  • Conduct data design reviews, striving for improved usability and efficiency.
  • Design blueprints for data extraction and basic transformations.
  • Participate in presentations and proposals for highly complex projects.
  • Implement data integration best practices
  • Develop standardized practices for delivering new products and capabilities using Big Data technologies, including data acquisition, transformation, and analysis
  • Interact with senior client technology leaders, understand their business goals, create, architect, propose, develop and deliver technology solutions
  • Define and develop client specific best practices around data management within a Hadoop environment or cloud environment
  • Recommend design alternatives for data ingestion, processing and provisioning layers
  • Participate in all aspects of AI and Data solution delivery life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, production deployment, and support
  • Bachelor's degree and 10-15 years of full-time working experience in Data Architecture/Engineering
  • 2-4 years of experience directly managing technical teams
  • At least 2 years working in the life sciences domains (Clinical (R D) and Commercial), developing solutions for life sciences challenges
  • Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal formal and informal).
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.
  • The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200.
  • The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600.
  • Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
