About The Position

The Data Architect C – Advanced will play a critical role in supporting data modernization and financial system transitions related to Florida PALM. This position is responsible for ensuring data model compatibility, maintaining data quality, preserving reporting continuity, and aligning business processes during system transitions. The role requires deep expertise in data architecture, ETL processes, financial data systems, and stakeholder collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
  • 7+ years working with large, complex database systems
  • 7+ years as a Data Architect or Senior Data Analyst
  • 10+ years of experience with DBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2
  • Strong background in financial data systems
  • Extensive experience with ETL tools, data warehousing, and automation
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Financial management processes (accounting, general ledger, budgeting)
  • Knowledge of Relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Knowledge of ETL and data integration platforms
  • Knowledge of Data governance, quality, and compliance standards
  • Knowledge of Cloud-first architecture strategies
  • Knowledge of Data security and privacy standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide software support for applications used by the Office of Work Program and Budget (OWPB) following documented procedures and checklists
  • Diagnose and resolve basic software issues and escalate complex problems to senior technical staff
  • Enter and maintain accurate records in support and issue-tracking systems
  • Assist with debugging and troubleshooting mainframe operating systems under supervision
  • Support conversion of legacy mainframe reports into modern software solutions
  • Analyze existing Work Program Datamart and General Ledger data models
  • Assess the impact of Florida PALM Chart of Accounts changes
  • Identify system dependencies, risks, and remediation requirements
  • Ensure reporting and applications remain functional during system transitions
  • Design and enhance data models incorporating new Florida PALM data elements
  • Ensure data models are scalable, robust, and aligned with industry best practices
  • Support current and future financial reporting and analytics needs
  • Review and enhance ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Automate and streamline ETL workflows in collaboration with development teams
  • Provide best practices for data visualization and reporting frameworks
  • Ensure reporting solutions align with updated data models
  • Support effective financial analysis and decision-making
  • Work closely with technical teams to deploy revised data models
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and the client
  • Communicate architectural changes, impacts, and timelines clearly and effectively
