About The Position

We are looking for a dynamic intern who is eager to learn about our company by assisting the Data and Analytics department. Under general supervision of a Data Director, the intern will work in a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Data and Analytics department. The intern’s assignments will make a positive contribution to the Larry H. Miller Company as well as give the intern opportunities to gain hands-on work experience with the intent of training the intern for the potential of starting a successful career after graduation. This internship is based at the Larry H. Miller Company’s Sandy, UT location. This internship is not eligible for the employee benefits regular company employees are entitled to. Candidates must be able to commute to Sandy, UT.

Requirements

Proficient in SQL.
Familiar with data warehousing and visualization concepts.
Working knowledge of Python or any other programming language.
Basic accounting knowledge base.
Understanding of how debits and credits work.
Understanding of how a balance sheet functions.
Understanding of how GL detail and how a TB functions.
Must be enrolled as a senior in an accredited University/College Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems or other relevant program.
Must be able to commute to Sandy, UT office.

Responsibilities

Attend sprint planning/project planning activities.
Attend business meeting for requirement gathering.
Create business and technical documentation.
Build data pipelines in Python/Snowflake/AWS/Control-M.
Build reports and dashboards in PowerBI.
Perform data analysis task and present.
Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of the LHMCO and the portfolio companies.
Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.
Seek ways to improve business operations efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
