About The Position

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Data Analytics Strategist to lead and grow our data analytics function. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands‑on leader who enjoys turning complex data into insights that drive operational excellence and informed business decisions across a global manufacturing organization. Urschel employee‑owners design and manufacture industrial food cutting equipment for customers around the world. Headquartered in Chesterton, Indiana, Urschel has been in business for nearly 115 years and is known for exceptional quality, innovation, and a strong culture built on collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement. The Data Analytics Strategist provides leadership and oversight for Urschel’s data analytics function. In this role, you will collaborate with leaders across the organization to understand data needs and deliver meaningful insights to establish data standards, develop automated solutions, and deliver high‑quality analytics that support business strategy, operational performance, and informed decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative field required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of managerial experience in data analytics or a related function
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data visualization skills
  • Ability to communicate complex data clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven leadership and people‑management experience
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is based at Urschel’s Corporate Headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana and requires full‑time, on‑site work.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business or a quantitative discipline preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing analytics solutions in a manufacturing or operational environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data standards and governance practices
  • Design and deploy automated data collection, integration, and processing solutions
  • Build and manage data sets to support reporting, analysis, forecasting, and trend identification
  • Apply statistical methods, modeling, and analytical techniques to business and operational initiatives
  • Prioritize projects and manage timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Present data findings and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders
  • Recruit, lead, and develop analytics team members
