About The Position

The Data Analytics Specialist supports government programs by designing, maintaining, and improving data analytics and reporting solutions. This role focuses on delivering accurate, consistent, and decision-ready dashboards while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance reporting effectiveness, data quality, and usability. The position requires close collaboration with program leadership and government stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions align with mission objectives, contractual requirements, and data governance standards. As a Data Analytics Specialist, you will serve as a critical bridge between complex data and mission-critical decision-making. You will design, maintain, and optimize sophisticated reporting solutions that support large-scale government programs. Your primary focus is to deliver accurate, high-integrity dashboards that provide program leadership and government stakeholders with the "single source of truth" required to drive operational success.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have an active or be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query).
  • Hands-on experience with Qlik Sense and/or QlikView.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and transformation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to leadership and government stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD or other government programs.
  • Familiarity with regulated or contract-driven environments.
  • Experience with cloud or enterprise data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake).
  • Power BI (PL-300) and/or Qlik Sense Data Architect certification.
  • Familiarity with federal data security and privacy standards (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC, or the Federal Data Strategy)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using current technology (Power BI and Qlik) and next generation technology.
  • Evaluate existing reports and analytics processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to dashboards, data models, and reporting workflows.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, APIs, Project, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Develop and maintain structured data models that support consistent and auditable reporting.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with single source of truth principles.
  • Document data sources, transformations, and assumptions to support continuity and compliance.
  • Present analytics findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Automate manual data collection processes and legacy spreadsheet workflows to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of human error.
  • Develop trend analysis and ‘what-if’ scenarios to help program leadership anticipate bottlenecks or budget variances before they occur.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to train end-users and government staff on how to interpret and self-serve from the developed analytics tools.
