About The Position

The Data Analyst is responsible for working with both structured and unstructured data sets to provide business insights and recommendations to improve the quality of Wintrust data and solve problems by leveraging industry standard analytical approaches and technologies. Successful candidate should be to able work both independently and in a team environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, or other quantitative field
2+ years’ experience in programming and data analysis with a concentration in data science, or related field
At least 2 years of experience in data analyst role or similar role requiring analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge with SQL statistical applications such as SQL and/or SAS
Proficient in the manipulation and use of medium to complex databases

Responsibilities

Gather, structure, and analyze data from medium to complex data sources into actionable business insights using industry standard analytical tools and technologies.
Perform ad-hoc analytical requests on medium to complex database systems
Work with data to help the organization make better business decisions driven by data
Analyze and identify root cause of data related issues; perform ad-hoc data requests as needed
Identify hidden use cases from datasets and come up with useful insights
Prepare results of data analysis for decision-making and offer recommendations to business teams
Collaborate with a team of data architects, data engineers for gathering, structuring, and analyzing data to support organizational needs and support the development and automation of standard data analysis
