About The Position

The Data Analyst supports Austin Telco’s mission by managing enterprise reporting, financial analytics, and data management initiatives across the organization. This role leverages datasets to develop analytical reporting tools, maintain data integrity, and provide actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision making. The Data Analyst contributes to the development of dashboards and reporting infrastructure used across multiple departments to drive data driven solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in data analysis, financial analytics, or a related analytical role.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel functions for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Familiarity with relational databases and data management best practices.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
  • Core Competencies: Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analysis, Finance, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function; flexibility may be required to support peak periods, staffing needs, or special events.
  • Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary work; regularly required to sit, operate a computer/digital devices, and communicate clearly. Must be able to lift or transport materials up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity for prolonged screen use is necessary.
  • Compliance: Good credit standing (verified prior to interview) and successful background check/drug screening upon offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Financial Data Analysts to develop and maintain analytical dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to support Finance and other business units.
  • Automate recurring reports and improve reporting workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand reporting needs and support development of data driven solutions.
  • Document data definitions, reporting methodologies, and analytical procedures to support transparency and consistency across reporting processes.
  • Support the management of financial data flows between source systems and reporting platforms, including data extraction, validation, and preparation for analysis.
  • Prepare structured datasets and perform validation checks to support financial forecasts, analytical models, and strategic reporting initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support for month end reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and operational insights that support improved business performance and decision making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and analytical capabilities across departments.
