POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Analyst supports the collection, organization, analysis, and presentation of data from the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and related data sources. This position assists with building, maintaining , and validating healthcare datasets, reports, and dashboards that support clinical, operational, financial, and quality initiatives across the organization. The analyst ensures data integrity, participates in data governance processes, and helps stakeholders make data-informed decisions through accurate and accessible reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in healthcare data or reporting may be considered.
  • SQL, Data Analytics (Google, Microsoft, or Coursera), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) / Power BI certification.
  • Association accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with report development tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Meditech BCA, or MicroStrategy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Basic understanding of data validation, transformation, and visualization concepts.
  • Awareness of HIPAA and data privacy standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • 0-2 years of experience in data analytics, database management, or reporting (internship or academic project experience acceptable).

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Meditech Data Repository (DR) and healthcare data structures preferred.
  • Healthcare analytics or EMR-related experience preferred, especially within Meditech environments.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, validate , and organize data from the Meditech Data Repository and other data systems.
  • Perform data cleaning, standardization, and integrity verification.
  • Develop and maintain entry-level reports and dashboards using SQL, Report Builder, Power BI, or Meditech BCA.
  • Identify trends and summarize data findings to support clinical and operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with IT, clinical, financial, and quality teams to define reporting requirements.
  • Participate in automation of recurring data processes and report delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, HIPAA, and security standards.
  • Provide end-user support and basic training on data tools and dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and report-related issues.
  • Contribute to data quality and governance initiatives within the analytics program.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
