About The Position

The Data Analyst will support research initiatives focused on chronic kidney disease and kidney transplantation by managing, processing, and analyzing clinical and imaging data. This role involves database maintenance, data extraction for genetic/genomic studies, image curation for AI model development, and contributing to the implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python/R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience with image processing tools and annotation platforms.
  • Familiarity with LIMS and research data management systems.
  • 2+ years in data analysis or research data management, preferably in a clinical or academic setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of genetic/genomic data workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Maintain and update sample and clinical databases for research cohorts.
  • Data Processing: Extract, format, and validate clinical data for downstream genetic and genomic association analyses.
  • Image Curation: Collect and organize pathological images from kidney biopsies (~2,000 annually) across multiple OPO centers.
  • Image Annotation & QC: Perform annotation and quality control of images under supervision of renal pathologists to support AI/deep learning model development.
  • System Implementation: Assist in deploying a web-based LIMS to centralize research data, track project progress, and manage data transfers/backups for collaborative research.
