About The Position

Data Analyst: supports data-driven decision-making processes and enhances the organization's ability to drive community impact. What we are looking for: The Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making processes and enhances the organization's ability to drive community impact. This position reports to the Director of Impact and Evaluation. The Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in collecting, analyzing, depicting, and presenting data that informs the foundation’s grant-making, community initiatives, and strategic planning efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as data science, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, including data collection, cleaning, and visualization.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong time management and workload prioritizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in an efficient and effective manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, demonstrating cultural competence, sensitivity to community dynamics, and a commitment to racial equity and justice.
• Ability to travel and attend off-premises events, such as community events and meetings.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with not-for-profit organizations, community initiatives, or community foundations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection and Management: Collaborate with various teams to collect, clean, and organize data from internal and external sources. Maintain quality and integrity of data collection and management, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to derive insights and trends that inform strategic decision-making and reporting. Prepare reports, dashboards, data analytics, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively. Provide support to staff on using and interpreting data.
• Data-Driven Decision Support: Assist in the identification and analysis of key performance indicators and metrics for evaluating and tracking results and learnings. Offer data-driven recommendations to improve program effectiveness and community outcomes. Work alongside key staff and external partners in the design and implementation of internal and external (e.g. staff, donors, grantees) surveys, including needs assessments and provide analysis as warranted. Monitor and aggregate research on best practices, trends, and innovations as needed.
• Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality regulations. Design and adhere to data processes and contribute to organizational policies and procedures. Ensure information is securely handled.
• Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data analysis efforts with organizational objectives.
