As owner and operator of the vessels, we provide skilled officers and crews dedicated to the safe, reliable, and economical operation of our fleet.     We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, and contribute to quality assurance (QA) efforts and gap analysis to ensure successful implementation of business solutions.   

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Foundational knowledge of data querying and transformation using tools such as SQL, PySpark, or similar data processing technologies.
  • Basic understanding of data manipulation using Python or comparable programming languages is an asset.
  • Experience with Excel for data analysis and validation.
  • Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Plotly Dash) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of data validation, data quality concepts, and testing principles (QA/UAT exposure is an asset).
  • Ability to document processes, requirements, and analytical findings clearly and accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
  • Develop process maps, functional specifications, user stories, data definitions, and other documentation as required.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Plotly Dash), including data validation and refresh monitoring.
  • Write and validate queries to extract, analyze, and test data in support of development and reporting activities.
  • Assist with data validation, transformation checks, and preparation of reporting datasets.
  • Perform basic root cause analysis on data quality issues or dashboard defects and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update the corporate data dictionary and business glossary to ensure consistency and governance alignment.
  • Support cross-functional meetings and workshops by documenting key decisions, action items, and follow-ups.
