About The Position

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Key Responsibilities include: Performs support tasks to improve healthcare quality and safety, improve patient care, and engage patients and their families in their healthcare. Works on real-time and meaningful projects; develops technical skills; collaborates and networks with various teams; and receives mentorship. Learns basic functional areas within assigned department. Participates in key department project work. Gains understanding of the UHS business model and how department functions as part of the business. Participates in department meetings to learn ongoing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a healthcare focus or a related degree from accredited college or university.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g. Excel and Tableau).
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Desire to learn and share ideas in a collaborative work environment.
