About The Position

Enhances the quality of life for Credit Union West members and team members by meeting or exceeding their service expectations. The Data Analyst ensures the organization effectively collects, interprets, and utilizes data to support strategic decision-making. This is an entry-level position where the analyst will work closely under the guidance of the Information Systems Manager to build core skills in data sourcing, reporting, and governance. With a strong focus on service, integrity, and continuous improvement, the Data Analyst helps ensure data is leveraged effectively to meet organizational goals and drive meaningful results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field preferred.  Equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis or reporting, preferably within a financial institution.  Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, SSRS.  Experience with SQL for querying relational databases.  Familiarity with data cleansing, transformation and validation techniques.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Analysis – Collects, validates, and transforms data from various systems and sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency and usability. Develops subject matter expertise across key Business Intelligence domains such as Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Quality, and Lifecycle Management. Supports first-level system administration and database management while collaborating with stakeholders to align data outputs with strategic and operational goals.
  • Reporting & Visualization – Designs and distributes clear, actionable dashboards and reports that enable informed operational and strategic decisions. Maintains data dictionaries, reporting workflows, and documentation to ensure transparency and consistency. Proactively recommends improvements to visualizations and reporting tools to enhance impact and user experience. Monitors KPI integrity and assists with data testing and validation during platform updates and system implementations.
  • Collaboration, Support & Administration – Partners with internal teams to understand needs and deliver data-driven solutions. Resolves Technology Services tickets related to reporting and systems, escalating as needed. Participates in technology access and administrative processes, enforcing security policies and maintaining proper permission management. Actively supports cross-departmental projects and adapts priorities to meet evolving business needs.
  • Process Improvement & Governance – Identifies inefficiencies and contributes to ongoing improvement of data processes, documentation standards, and reporting efficiency. Develops and maintains procedures to ensure compliance with internal data governance policies and regulatory requirements. Contributes to project management activities related to data and platform integrations while maintaining high standards of accuracy, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Provides backup support to other areas of the department as needed ensuring alignment with organizational goals and core values.  Maintain confidentiality of systems, records, and sensitive data.  Maintain performance standards by performing all activities consistent with core values, meeting established service standards, policies, and procedures, and preserving the confidentiality of systems and records
