About The Position

The Dashboard & Reporting Manager is a leadership role within the Value Chain Optimization (VCO) organization, responsible for leading a team that delivers enterprise dashboards, reporting, and analytics to support strategic, commercial, and operational decision‑making across the value chain. This role partners closely with IT and key stakeholders to define reporting strategy, prioritize analytics roadmaps, and enable standardized, scalable, and automated insights across VCO, Commercial, Refining, BP&A, Accounting, and related functions. This position owns the execution of VCO’s data and analytics strategy, overseeing the development and continuous improvement of dashboards, reporting outputs, and analytical tools that drive transparency, consistency, and decision quality. Success in this role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills to translate business needs into actionable insights, influence across functions, and develop high‑performing teams that advance data‑driven decision‑making across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Business, or related discipline required.
  • Eight (8) years of Commercial, Data Engineering, or Analytical experience required.
  • Data Strategy & Governance: Defines data frameworks ensuring integrity, accessibility, and governance.
  • Business Acumen: Applies knowledge of MPC's business, industry and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals. Makes decisions and recommendations clearly linked to MPC's strategy.
  • Data Analysis: Data Analysis is the process of identifying, evaluating, interpreting and organizing data so that it can be used for business decisions. It includes sorting through data to identify patterns and establish relationships.
  • Analytics & Reporting Enablement: Develops reporting tools and dashboards to support decision-making across various functions.
  • Stakeholder & IT Enablement: Partners with business stakeholders and IT to translate decision needs into prioritized dashboard/reporting requirements; builds and manages a delivery roadmap; aligns data sources, definitions, access, and refresh expectations; and drives implementation through clear intake, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination routines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees a team of Analysts responsible for the development and execution of strategic data and analytics for the Value Chain Optimization (VCO) organization.
  • Leads collaboration efforts and acts as liaison with IT on dashboarding/reporting enablement, reporting strategy, and data governance initiatives on behalf of the VCO organization.
  • Collaborates with key value chain stakeholders to develop and prioritize dashboarding and reporting requirements/roadmap and partners with IT to deliver those priorities.
  • Manages the identification and implementation of internal and external facing processes and system improvements related to dashboards, reporting outputs, and surrounding analytics.
  • Leads the implementation of the data strategy for VCO and oversees the day-to-day execution of the plan.
  • Responsible for the team that champions the standardized reporting and monitoring vision within the organization. This includes BP&A, Commercial, Refining, Accounting, and others.
  • Leads a team of individuals with knowledge around data organization/strategies, analytics, reporting structures, dashboard automation, and data science to drive planning, commercial, and operational decisions.
  • Develops the team through assignments, cross training, and personal development. This includes the hiring selection, career development and supervision of the team.
  • Leads Value Chain Insights dashboarding & reporting community which increases the knowledge base of Analysts in the organization.
  • Designs and deploys tools that allow us to advance our decision-making across the value chain, including monitoring and communication tools for the Plan-to-Produce global process.
  • Manages a team that offers automation and tools that support an environment of continuous improvement mindset around data, reports, dashboards, new technologies, etc.
  • Employs an agile mindset leveraging both internal and external data sources.
