About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to support our In‑Building Solutions (IBS) team. This role focuses on the maintenance, repair, commissioning, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). Although a dedicated installation team handles most mounting, the Field Engineer must be capable of performing tasks such as terminating cables, racking and stacking, adding connectors, mounting equipment, and other hands‑on integration work when needed. This position is client‑facing and requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage customer relationships professionally.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience commissioning, integrating, installing, and troubleshooting DAS systems.
  • Experience supporting public safety and/or cellular RF environments (BDAs, BTS, small cells, etc.).
  • Strong client‑facing presence and initiative-driven work ethic.
  • PIM testing
  • Sweep testing
  • Spectrum analysis
  • 2+ years of experience on public safety or wireless DAS projects, including commissioning, integration, and optimization.
  • Intermediate expertise with in‑building wireless systems and related troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with field tools such as: Spectrum analyzer CW generator Data collection scanners OTDR Handset/UE testing tools Cable testers
  • Knowledge of mobile technology standards, antenna theory, propagation modeling, link budgets, and DAS design concepts (active and passive).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and obtain security clearances if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Fiber/OTDR experience
  • Adherence to OSHA, CE, and customer‑specific safety protocols.
  • Ability to maintain organized work areas and accurate tool/equipment inventory.
  • DAS OEM certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform commissioning, integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of DAS systems.
  • Conduct PIM testing, Sweep testing, and Spectrum Analysis.
  • Support public safety and cellular network deployments involving RF sources and equipment such as BDAs, BTS, small cells, amplifiers, coax, receivers, and related components.
  • Work with various frequency bands including 700 MHz, 800 MHz, VHF, and UHF.
  • Occasionally perform installation‑related tasks (terminations, mounting, cable work, etc.).
  • Interface directly with clients and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, test results, and project notes.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation as required.
  • Adhere to job‑site safety standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
