About The Position

MCA is looking for a qualified Field Engineer to support their IBS (in building solutions) team. This Field Tech will be responsible for maintenance and repair of DAS systems not limited to commissioning, integrations, testing, and troubleshooting. MCA has an install team that will perform the majority of mounting, but the Field Engineer is considered a "one-stop-shop" so they need to know how to terminate, rack/stack, add connectors, mount systems, etc if need be. supporting RF frequencies for Public Safety and Cellular networks. They need to have experience with amplifiers, Coax, receivers, BDA's and various frequencies not limited to 700 MGHZ, 800MGHZ, VHF, UHF, etc. Fiber/OTDR experience is a plus. They do not need to have all of this knowledge, but some. The OEM's that they work with are CommScope, MobileAccess, JMA, Corning, etc. Commission, integration, and troubleshooting of DAS system is a must have via PIM, Sweep, Spectrum Analysis. This individual will be client facing and needs to have excellent customer relationships. The main clients that they are currently supporting are AAMC, House of Reps, Library of congress, and AT&T projects.

  • 2 years of experience in Public Safety and Wireless Service Provider DAS projects commissioning, Integration and Optimization.
  • Intermediate level expertise and troubleshooting skills on In-Building systems.
  • Intermediate level expertise in Field Engineer tools: Spectrum Analyzer, CW generator, PCTEL (or equivalent) data collection scanner, OTDR, Handset (UE) testing, Fluke cable tester.
  • Versed in mobile technology standards, propagation modeling, basic antenna theory, basic bi-directional amplifier (BDA) theory, link budgets, passive and active Distributed Antenna System (DAS) design.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Able to obtain security clearances, pass checks, and drug tests as required.

  • Adherence to all safety rules and regulations as directed by OSHA, CE, and the job site customer.
  • Maintain a safe and neat work area and accurate inventory of tools and test equipment.
  • DAS OEM certifications, i.e., JMA, Comba, Fiplex, ADRF, CommScope, Corning, etc.
  • Typing skills and ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
  • Valued team player and works in parallel with peers and cross-functionally.
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
