About The Position

The Development Communications team within Development and Alumni Relations is hiring for an intern who will be responsible for providing support to the Development Communications team, specifically around digital communications. About the Work Unit: The Department of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) assists Vanderbilt University in securing the resources, both human and financial, that are required to achieve its mission and goals. The Department is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals and organizations whose charitable objectives are consistent with those of Vanderbilt University's teaching and research programs. Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of social media, content management systems (CMS), and other digital communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform and manage multiple projects on a regular basis
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to keep private information confidential
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, assuming responsibility, prioritizing and carrying out duties with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support for key projects such as website audits, bench-marking around digital properties, and digital content creation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
