The University of Maryland, School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies is searching for a 9-month non-tenure eligible lecturer in dance education to begin August 2026. This is a 58%, benefits-eligible appointment with a teaching equivalent of 7 credits in fall semester and 6 credits in spring semester. Summer teaching is required and will be contracted separately. Travel to practicum sites within the State of Maryland is required and a travel stipend will be provided. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of extension. Non-tenure track appointments are renumerated at a per 3-credit rate of $5,231.88 in the first year, with increases thereafter. The workload will be divided between courses and administrative work related to dance education. The lecturer will also provide support to the College Supervisor of the Master’s Degree in Dance Education with Certification within the College of Education.
