About The Position

We have various sports and programming available throughout the year for kids age 3 through elementary school. This position is responsible for teaching fundamentals of dance, creating routines for recitals, and inspiring confidence in young minds. Additional responsibilities include lesson planning and, in some cases, recording of routines if instructor consents.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic dance skills and personal experience in dance are required.
Must be energetic and enjoy working with kids in a fun and fast-paced environment.
Must be sensitive to the needs of individuals and have the ability to build rapport with participants and parents.
Self-confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to enforce rules impartially, consistently and calmly.
Must exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.
CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
