About The Position

As a primary contact for customers, the Dairy Supervisor provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The Dairy Supervisor places individual items on shelves in specific location and faces merchandise. Opens cases of merchandise using a company approved box cutter. Faces items to be consistent with Division standards. Dusts and washes shelves as needed. Checks temperature in cold cases, and coolers as needed. Maintain all aisles with a clear walkway. Bales cardboard and cleans floor. May occasional function as cashier/checker. May complete orders or maintain inventory with handheld ordering device.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Assists the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Dairy department, including supervising and training personnel. Maintains the quality condition of all dairy grocery products, stocks, rotates and faces products, discards out of code and spoiled products and maintains backroom. Cleans and maintains shelves. Assists in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays. Encourages and maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on safe, friendly, and courteous service. Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques. Assists the Grocery Manager in planning, organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs. Rotates and faces product; processes and discards outdated and spoiled products. Occasional exposure to outdoor environment with varying temperatures Frequent exposure to temperature of 35˚ Fahrenheit while handling product in a cold case, 28˚ Fahrenheit in a cooler and -20˚ Fahrenheit in a freezer. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
