About The Position

The Dairy Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the dairy department. This role ensures product freshness, inventory accuracy, sales performance, and food safety compliance while leading associates to deliver a high‑quality shopping experience. The Dairy Manager partners with store leadership to meet financial, operational, and customer service goals.

Requirements

  • Previous dairy, grocery, or retail management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in cold environments
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the dairy department to ensure shelves are stocked, organized, and customer‑ready
  • Order product and maintain inventory levels to support sales while minimizing shrink and out‑of‑stocks
  • Ensure proper rotation, dating, and handling of all dairy products
  • Maintain cold chain integrity by monitoring temperatures and refrigeration standards
  • Execute planograms, resets, seasonal changes, and promotional displays
  • Maintain department cleanliness and organization, including coolers and backroom areas
  • Monitor and control department labor and supply usage
  • Address customer questions, special requests, and concerns professionally
  • Supervise, train, and develop dairy department associates
  • Create daily work plans and assign tasks based on business needs
  • Coach associates on productivity, food safety, and customer service standards
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment
  • Support scheduling and timekeeping accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Properly handle recalls, damaged product, and shrink procedures
  • Follow company policies related to safety, loss prevention, and merchandising
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and label placement
  • Track sales trends, shrink, and inventory movement
  • Communicate operational issues or needs to store leadership
  • Support company initiatives and department performance goals
