About The Position

The Dairy Manager is responsible for the overall operation, merchandising, and performance of the Dairy Department. This role ensures high standards of product quality, freshness, inventory management, and customer service while driving sales, minimizing shrink, and maintaining compliance with company policies and food safety standards. Requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of dairy operations, inventory control, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Basic proficiency in computer systems and retail technology tools.
  • Ability to motivate associates and drive accountability and results.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail dairy, grocery, or department leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Dairy Department associates.
  • Schedule labor effectively to meet business needs and productivity goals.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to associates and support performance development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety‑focused work environment.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, rotation, and display of dairy products.
  • Ensure proper date rotation and adherence to freshness standards.
  • Maintain full, clean, and organized cases and backroom storage areas.
  • Execute merchandising plans, resets, and seasonal programs.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional execution.
  • Manage inventory levels to support sales while minimizing spoilage, damage, and shrink.
  • Monitor out‑of‑stocks, dated product, and department conditions regularly.
  • Analyze sales, shrink, and inventory reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Control labor and department expenses within established targets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards.
  • Maintain required logs, temperature checks, and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety policies and proper equipment usage.
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience through strong department standards and service.
  • Address customer questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure product assortment meets customer demand and store needs.
  • Partner with store leadership to support overall store operations and initiatives.
  • Support cross‑department collaboration and seasonal workload needs as required.
  • Serve as a department resource for store leadership.
