About The Position

ABS Global, a Genus Company, is offering a hands-on, career-shaping opportunity as a Dairy Sales, Genetics, and Consulting Intern. This isn't your average internship - it's your chance to gain real-world experience alongside industry experts, receive top-tier training, and make a tangible impact on farms across the Eastern US with potential placement in the New York Region or Michigan/Ohio Region. The hourly compensation range for this position is ($17 - $18) USD. The compensation provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. This position will close for applications on December 15th.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Dairy or related field.
  • Experience in dairy farm operations.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Available for 12 weeks during the summer.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for the dairy industry.
  • Proficiency in PCDart, DC305, and/or BoviSynch software.
  • Certification in Artificial Insemination.

Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of genetic programs, prospecting, business building, and customer relationship management.
  • Understand the general farm operation and handling cattle including reproductive skills and safety procedures.
  • Acquire knowledge in seeking new ways to deliver value to customers in co-operation with the commercial sales team, technical service team and new business development.
  • Gain exposure to real industry seminars, producer meetings and in-house meetings and publications.
  • Assist Sales Reps on their route with deliveries, service, sales calls and with ABS udder care products.
  • Learn and help with record analysis and reproductive consulting.
  • Ensure ABS Global is a healthy and safe environment to work by observing both the company safety rules and the policies/guideline.
  • Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision.
  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
  • Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
