The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking an academic Cytopathologist with a commitment to clinical service and proven research track-record to work in a large group practice setting. Outstanding diagnostic and communication skills, as well as the drive for service excellence are necessary. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cytopathology, including routine exfoliative and aspiration specimens, and rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE). Additional interest/skill in other surgical pathology subspecialities is highly desirable. The selected candidate will join a group of 22 anatomic pathologists in a department of over 40 physicians and scientists. This position includes an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Applicants from any academic rank are encouraged to apply. For applicants interested or actively engaged in extramurally funded research a Clinician Engaged in Research (CER) designation will be considered. The CER appointment is a 3-year commitment from DLMP and Research, with at least 30% protected research time. Development of an independent extramurally funded research program is preferred; and support for subsequent years of research funding will be determined based upon progress towards that goal. Synergy with our oncology and digital pathology programs is ideal.
