About The Position

Under the general direction of the Material Supervisor, the Cycle Counter works independently and confers regularly. The Cycle Counter will work closely with the Material team, will analyze inventory discrepancies and conduct scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts.

Requirements

  • Cycle Counter may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant. Travel, on rare occasions, may be required with occasional overnight accommodation at various locations. Overtime may be required to meet production expectations
  • Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, measuring instruments, communication devices, and a projector
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent at managing data at a detail level
  • Complies with, supports and models MEVS’s operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles
  • Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001)
  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Minimum of 3years’ experience in shipping and receiving
  • General knowledge in inventory control, material planning and ERP system
  • Computer literate with Intermediate skill level in Excel and Microsoft office, Access knowledge a plus
  • Working knowledge of Engineering Change types
  • Familiarity with min max violation process
  • Old part/new part carryover
  • Version/revision levels and impacts

Responsibilities

  • Developing cycle count plans
  • Perform cycle counts accurately and efficiently
  • Execute cycle count of materials as directed or as scheduled
  • Inventory min violation process and root cause analysis/corrective action
  • Signage/labeling accuracy to PFEP (integration with Engineering)
  • Modifications to plant floor and marketplace footprints/master layout (integration with Engineering)
  • Min/Max analysis and right sizing to operational min quantities on hand and CMS levels
  • Inventory max conditional analysis and corrective action
  • Marketplace storage ownership
  • Perform a thorough investigation in the event there are any inventory losses
  • Assist with cycle count adjustments in the CMS system as directed
  • Review inventory movements to ensure proper transactions are being made within CMS
  • Assist in completing necessary paperwork as directed
  • Communicate inventory errors to the Inventory Analyst
  • Operate forklift and reach truck equipment as needed to validate inventory
  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner
  • Audit production and scrap reports for accuracy and validating the entries into the ERP system
  • Ensure continual material flow into all required locations
  • Provide data to Materials team to promote lean inventory levels on all WIP material in accordance with defined safety stock levels
  • Attends departmental and plant-wide communication meetings as scheduled
  • Attends training as scheduled
  • Other duties as required
  • Consult with your Supervisor or designee if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures./
  • Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with company policies, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensures all employees and visitors have a safe environment in that safety and housekeeping standards are maintained; and all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated.
  • Responds to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
  • Takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division’s safety goals.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
