About The Position

As a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and implemention of Cybersecurity capabilities for Navy systems. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in systems engineering principles with an interest in Cybersecurity, and is eager to contribute to critical defense systems while working in an Agile team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: : Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity capabilities, including access control, auditing, network firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and encryption requirements for data-at-rest and data-in-motion
  • Strong interest in systems engineering principles and practices
  • Strong interest in requirements management and traceability
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity standards including ICD-503, NIST 800-53, DJSIG, or the DoD 8500 series
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well-versed in MS Office products
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Responsibilities

  • Design Cybersecurity capabilities to meet Navy requirements and protect systems against emerging Cyber threats
  • Analyze current systems engineering documentation and processes
  • Conduct threat analysis and risk assessments on current systems and processes
  • Decompose government-provided requirements and security controls into system-level requirements
  • Support team efforts to create/update requirement and accreditation documentation
  • Collaborate with management, development, testing, and logistics team leads
  • Ensure system engineering tasks are completed in a timely manner to allow other components of the team to meet timelines
  • Collaborate on Authorization and Accreditation efforts with accreditation stakeholders
