The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion MultiPurpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 10 years of experience in an IT field of specialization.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix/Windows system administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation of tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, monitor and maintain cybersecurity tools (EDR, SIEM, etc.) across multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with team and system owners to proactively identify and resolve potential technical issues and improve assigned system's security posture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cybersecurity tool performance, data accuracy, and availability.
  • Ensure that systems are hardened and maintain compliance with cybersecurity standards.
  • Perform periodic systems upgrades and patches in between critical operations.
  • Proficient with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, and analyzing vulnerability scan results to assess risk levels, and prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues encountered by system administrators.
  • Define, document and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation.
