About The Position

BSI seeks a Cybersecurity Specialist to support critical Air Force nuclear command, control, and communications systems at Offutt AFB. You will serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for mission-essential systems, ensuring these critical assets maintain their Authority to Operate (ATO) in compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity (minimum)
  • Intermediate Level Cybersecurity Work Role experience required
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
  • Must meet DoD 8140.03 (DFARS 252.239-7001) certification requirements for assigned work role
  • Certifications must be current before starting work
  • Active Top Secret clearance required at hire
  • Must obtain additional clearance caveats (SCI) within 3 months of contract start
  • Able to work in classified environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with eMASS or XACTA workflow platforms
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 requirements
  • Familiarity with ACAS or other DoD-approved scanning tools
  • Previous work with Air Force or DoD systems

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for mission-critical Air Force systems
  • Manage Assessment & Authorization (A&A) projects in designated workflow platforms
  • Develop and update System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action & Milestones (POAMs), and security policies
  • Conduct monthly system audits using authorized scanning tools
  • Serve as principal advisor on security posture for operational units
  • Establish and maintain ATO for assigned Air Force systems
  • Develop RMF packages compliant with NIST and NSA requirements
  • Conduct monthly audit file backups and vulnerability assessments
  • Advise customers on security control implementation
  • Document and track controls using approved software tools
  • Provide cybersecurity subject matter expertise for Air Force mission systems
  • Attend technical meetings and provide monthly status reports
  • Support external audits and inspections
  • Collaborate with Air Force cybersecurity teams and program offices
