About The Position

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Cloud Subject Matter Expert to lead the design and implementation of secure cloud-hosted IT systems in alignment with DoD standards. In this role, you will ensure that cloud environments meet rigorous protection, monitoring, detection, and response requirements, supporting mission-critical programs and applications. You will provide guidance on cybersecurity assessments, audits, and compliance, advising both technical teams and leadership on best practices. The position requires staying current with emerging threats, cloud security frameworks, and compliance standards while delivering practical solutions that strengthen the organization’s security posture. This role offers a highly impactful, collaborative environment with opportunities to shape secure cloud architecture for enterprise-level and DoD-related operations. Strong technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively across teams are key to success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience securing and architecting complex IT systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure, or similar).
  • Proven experience leading or contributing to cloud security assessments, audits, or compliance reviews.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud security frameworks, standards, and best practices (CIS Controls, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix).
  • Relevant cloud security certifications (GCP, OCI, AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
  • Experience with enterprise-level DoD IT systems.
  • Required to possess a DOD SECRET Clearance and be eligible for IT-I Critical Sensitive or Tier 5 (T5) clearance.
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical ability, and familiarity with information security principles and supporting technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review cloud security policies and provide recommendations to enhance the security posture and compliance of IT systems.
  • Apply knowledge of cloud security threats and engineering advances to support program deployment and operational readiness.
  • Ensure all cloud-hosted systems meet DoD compliance and regulatory requirements throughout the deployment lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance to assessment teams in performing cybersecurity vulnerability assessments for cloud environments.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on best practices, security frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to audit preparation, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement of cloud security processes.
