About The Position

As a Cybersecurity Awareness Intern, you will support and represent the resilience program across the organization by delivering people‑focused cybersecurity initiatives. You’ll help run phishing simulations, analyze behavioral trends, and develop targeted training that improves recognition and reporting of cyber threats. This role also plays a key part in planning and executing Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaigns and supporting awareness sessions through content development and coordination. Your contributions will strengthen Premera’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber and operational disruptions. This internship is a great fit for someone who enjoys being creative, working with people, and learning how marketing, psychology, and data can be used to help others build better cybersecurity habits. Program Details and Requirements: Premera’s Summer Internship Program is June 15th – August 21st 2026. To be eligible for the program, you must currently be enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months). This is a hybrid internship program located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, WA.

Requirements

  • Marketing & psychology interest — using behavior‑change techniques to influence secure habits.
  • Strong communication skills — writing, presenting, collaborating across departments.
  • Creative thinker — able to develop compelling promotional campaigns, activities, and engagement strategies.
  • Analytical curiosity — willingness to learn behavioral security metrics and analyze trends.
  • Organizational & planning skills — ability to manage events, logistics, timelines.
  • Collaboration mindset — working with Corporate Communications, Events, managers, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Non‑technical cyber interest — passion for helping people understand secure behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Representing and supporting resilience program capabilities across the company.
  • Delivering phishing simulations, analyzing behavioral trends, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Developing training modules targeted to "human hot spots" to increase recognition and reporting of attempted phishing attacks.
  • Planning and executing Cybersecurity Awareness Month events and campaigns.
  • Supporting Awareness Sessions by developing content and coordinating logistics.
