About The Position

Cybersecurity Analyst – Data Protection Note: Fidelity is not providing immigration sponsorship for this position The Role Fidelity Investments is looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join the Data Protection and Analytics Product Area Team supporting Enterprise Cyber Security. In this role, you will help maintain and enhance the organization’s data security posture across both cloud and on‑premises environments. Your work contributes to strengthening protection around sensitive information and ensuring that data‑centric security remains foundational across the enterprise. You will also play a key role in supporting compliance with evolving data privacy and security regulations, reducing organizational risk and building trust with stakeholders. By helping align cybersecurity practices with business needs and regulatory expectations, you promote a strong governance culture. Additionally, you will foster greater adoption of data protection best practices by partnering with teams across the organization, reinforcing a consistent and proactive security mindset. The Team Our team focuses on Data Security Posture Management for critical data assets. We strengthen our organization’s data protection capabilities by enabling our business units to discover, classify, catalogue critical data and adherence to regulatory compliance by shaping our overall data security strategy.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, data security, or related technology roles.
  • Foundational understanding of security controls used to protect organizational data, systems, and networks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) and SaaS applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Salesforce) from a security perspective.
  • Solid understanding of data security concepts such as access controls, encryption, auditing, and monitoring for databases like SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of RBAC/ABAC principles and data security practices such as masking or tokenization (hands‑on exposure preferred but not required).
  • Exposure to Python or SQL for basic analysis, automation, or security-related tasks.
  • Experience in Platforms such as BigID, Varonis, Immuta, Securiti.ai, Collibra/Alation, Splunk, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of how sensitive and regulated data should be protected throughout its lifecycle (discovery, classification, labeling, access control, etc.).
  • Familiarity with common data privacy and security regulations such as GLBA, PII/PHI requirements, SOX, and general knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Controls.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Compliance, Legal, Data Governance, and IT—to support data security initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technology field.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Security+, CCSP, AWS Security, or other relevant credentials are preferred but not required.
