About The Position

TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS ONLY AS PART OF THE DOW SKILLBRIDGE PROGRAM To offer eligible Service Members currently approved to participate in the DoW SkillBridge program the opportunity to gain first-hand experience and insight into Navy Federal’s business, technology, resources, and procedures by providing support in focused areas, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network, and interact with multiple departments. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques, and creative problem-solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies, and procedures. To protect, preserve, and safeguard the employees, members, and physical assets at all Navy Federal locations. Perform basic/routine tasks and solving a variety of moderately complex problems.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years in a intelligence, cyber threat intelligence or information security role with experience working in cybersecurity tools, intelligence sources and threat intelligence platforms
  • Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in a technical / engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with intelligence sources and triaging information for further review
  • Experience tracking cyber threat infrastructure and/or curating indictors of compromise
  • Experience researching darkweb threats
  • Ability to correlate IoCs to logs and alerts from a variety of different technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewall, proxies, and anti-virus across multiple platforms
  • Experience with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources for the purposes of documenting results and analyzing findings to provide advanced threat intelligence
  • Research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely to all levels of staff, management and/or vendors
  • GSEC, Sec+, GCTI or other related Information Security certifications
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to Navy Federal policies and procedures, regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act

Responsibilities

  • Support intelligence collection, triage and analysis of information obtained through intelligence sources
  • Support research on threat actor groups, malware, exploit methods & vulnerabilities
  • Perform basic technical intelligence analysis of cyber threats using analytical tradecraft methods and forensic tools
  • Provide analysis on threats impersonating NFCU brand
  • Research darkweb actors and trends impacting the Financial Services Industry
  • Research threats to NFCU Key Service Providers
  • Network with external organizations through trusted communities of interest and assist in developing relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Provide supporting research to incident response investigations, cyber threat landscape, threat modelling assessments, and collection plan
  • Assist team in fostering a information sharing program with public/private organizations and other communities of interest
  • Use a combination of OSINT research, network, and host forensic analysis, log review and correlation to support investigations
  • Develop comprehensive intelligence reports which describe threats and their tactics for a range of audiences
  • Contribute to internal documentation, such as detailed procedures, playbooks, and operational metrics reports as required
  • Provide supporting research to longer term analytic projects as required
  • Execute daily tasks as assigned
