Designed specifically for active military service members, Newrez’s DoW SkillBridge Fellowship enables transitioning service members to gain civilian work experience with a leading mortgage lender while learning how to transfer their skills to a corporate setting. As a SkillBridge Fellow within Investor Reporting, participants support key daily and monthly activities such as reporting, remittances, and reconciliations across investor portfolios including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and Private Investors. Fellows work closely with experienced team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong compliance practices, while building hands-on experience in data analysis, accounting, and investor operations. After successful completion of our DoW SkillBridge Fellowship, candidate can expect to be a Investor Reporting Analyst with an organization that is nationally recognized as a top Military Friendly Company and Brand.

Requirements

  • Must be current active duty military service member.
  • Received Unit Commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoW SkillBridge Program prior to start of program March 23, 2026.
  • Approved to complete 60-day SkillBridge Fellowship in Coppell, TX.
  • Highly developed organizational and project/time-management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excel in a team-oriented, collaborative environment while contributing to the creation, design, and implementation of value-add business strategies that affect current operating practices and company policy.
  • Be able to clearly articulate and present ideas and findings to a varied audience, including the operations staff and senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to adapt.

  • An entrepreneurial business mindset.
  • Strong business communication skills with an ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

  • All employees are required to have smart phones that meet Company security standards with the ability to install apps such as Okta Verify and Microsoft Authenticator. Employment will be contingent on this requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare investor reports, remittance files, and related accounting entries.
  • Support monthly reconciliations for custodial accounts (Clearing, P&I, T&I, Escrow).
  • Research and help resolve data discrepancies and account variances.
  • Learn to facilitate remittance wires and journal entries under supervision.
  • Performs assigned duties, under direction of experienced personnel, to gain knowledge and experience required. These duties will involve Homeowner interface and decisioning in real world account management scenarios.
  • Develops a detailed understanding of our customer base.
  • Understands the competitive nature and marketplace of our business.
  • Develops a detailed understanding of the strategies and tactics we use to market to customers.
  • Recommends and executes on recommendations to improve our overall marketing approach.
  • Receives training and performs duties in several functions in order to become familiar with line and staff functions, management viewpoints, company policies, and best practices.
  • Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties.
  • Will be required to attend company sponsored training classes and attain certain certifications.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
