About The Position

As a Cyber Systems Engineer (ISSO), you’ll play a critical role in protecting mission-critical systems, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and safeguarding sensitive and classified information. You’ll work closely with engineering, IT, and program teams to embed security across the full system lifecycle, from design through operations. What you’ll do: Serve as the Information System Security Approval Authority (ISSA/ISSO) for assigned systems Support the organization’s Information Assurance (IA) program with both technical and compliance expertise Plan, coordinate, and enforce IT security controls across multiple systems and projects Maintain and continuously improve the operational security posture of mission-critical environments Develop, implement, and enforce system security policies, standards, and methodologies Support day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, incident response, and remediation Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses to support system Certification & Accreditation (C&A) Evaluate and validate security solutions for systems handling classified data Manage system configurations, changes, and associated security impact assessments Prepare, review, and maintain required security documentation, including: System Security Plans (SSPs) Risk Assessment Reports Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)

Requirements

  • 17+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting projects of similar scope, complexity, and mission criticality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • In lieu of a degree, an additional five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted.
  • Active TS/SCI with a current polygraph required
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAM Level I (or higher) certification required
