Thank you for your interest in joining the Nusenda team! We are currently seeking a Cyber Security Technician to join our organization. As a Cyber Security Technician you will be responsible for continuously monitoring security events, logs, and alerts across networks, servers, endpoints, cloud services, and enterprise security tools. You'll Identify threats, vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and anomalous activity, while analyzing alerts and indicators of compromise using threat intelligence, log correlation, and established response procedures. You'll Complete thorough documentation of incidents and response actions, tracking remediation to completion, and contributes to the development and refinement of incident response playbooks, procedures, and escalation workflows.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CEH, or similar.
  • Experience with security monitoring tools such as Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), IDS/IPS, EDR, and vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, remote access, vulnerability scanning, VPN and DMZ management).
  • Knowledge and experience with application security, content filtering, network protocols, access control, encryption, and multifactor authentication technologies.
  • Understanding of identity and access management principles.
  • Basic knowledge of securing cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor security events, logs, and alerts generated by networks, servers, endpoints, cloud environments, and enterprise security systems to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and anomalous activity.
  • Perform analysis of security alerts and indicators of compromise to distinguish false positives from genuine security incidents, leveraging threat intelligence, log correlation, and established incident response procedures.
  • Detect, analyze, contain, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware infections, phishing and social engineering campaigns, ransomware activity, data exfiltration attempts, and unauthorized or suspicious access to systems and accounts.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the credit union’s security tools (e.g., antivirus, SIEM, email filtering).
  • Stay informed of emerging threats, attack techniques, and security best practices, applying updated knowledge to improve detection and response capabilities.
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives and promote best practices, assist with end-user security awareness education as part of new employee orientation as well as cyber security workshops for credit union members.
