About The Position

Based in Norfolk, VA, USA, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join NCI Agency CIS Support Unit (CSU) Norfolk, which is responsible for managing, delivering, and maintaining secure and reliable Communications and Information Systems (CIS) products and services. CSU Norfolk supports NCI Agency’s mission through secure end-to-end services under the Enterprise Service Delivery Model (ESDM). We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Cyber Security Section Head who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and minimum 2 years post-related experience (minimum 6 years of extensive expertise in related duties for candidates without a degree).
  • Practical knowledge in system security, risk management, and security architecture.
  • Working experience with cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, proxy servers, intrusion detection, and forensic tools.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security for mobile devices, security incident handling, and vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Experience managing Cyber Security teams.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice To Haves

  • CISM or CISSP certification and knowledge of NATO responsibilities and security policies are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for implementing, maintaining, and coordinating Cyber Security activities, including boundary protection management, data loss prevention, and enterprise anti-malware solutions.
  • Plan and manage security audits, inspections, cybersecurity services for national customers, and ad hoc requirements such as exercises and operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, investigate security breaches, and recommend countermeasures.
  • Develop and contribute to secure solution architectures, including cloud-based or on-premises systems, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Supervise monitoring, testing, and evaluation of computer security systems and ensure systems meet accreditation requirements.
  • Manage cybersecurity incidents and support NATO Cyber Security Center activities within the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
