About The Position

As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will play a critical support role in helping protect our organization’s computer systems and networks. This internship offers hands-on experience across multiple cybersecurity domains—such as security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability assessments—under the guidance of experienced professionals. This role involves collaborating with team members to enhance IT security processes and promote best practices in cybersecurity. As an intern, you will receive mentoring and hands-on experience, with support for your key areas of interest. This opportunity is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in cyber security, data analysis, process improvement, project management, IT leadership, or related fields within the security domain.

Requirements

  • To qualify for this internship, applicants must be full-time students at an accredited college or university and currently classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
  • Accepting recent graduates (May 2025 or later).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn
  • Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Cyber Security, Information Technology) or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with basic technical concepts related to cyber security, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new security technologies and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts and tools (a plus, not required)
  • Exposure to cyber security tools or frameworks is beneficial.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives outside of the direct scope where relevant technical expertise applies.

Responsibilities

  • Security Monitoring: Assist in monitoring alerts, logs, and threat intelligence feeds for suspicious or malicious activity.
  • Incident Response: Support the investigation, documentation, and remediation tracking of security incidents.
  • Vulnerability Management: Help perform vulnerability scans and support patch management to address system weaknesses.
  • Policy & Documentation: Assist in maintaining and updating internal security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Threat Research: Conduct research on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Tool Support: Gain exposure to key security tools such as firewalls, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) systems.
  • Compliance & Audits: Contribute to compliance activities, audits, and risk assessments based on established security frameworks.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work alongside IT, networking, and development teams to support security initiatives and projects.
