As an intern, you will support the Cyber Security team in protecting the organization's systems and data from threats. Responsibilities include assisting with security monitoring, incident response, documentation, and automation of detection and response workflows. This internship provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity and exposure to industry-leading tools and practices This position is located in Lexington, KY.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or other related field, Data analytics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts (threats, vulnerabilities, risk)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information
  • Experience developing presentations, reporting, and analyzing
  • Ability to solve complex issues within a team environment
  • Strong verbal/written communication abilities and effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

Responsibilities

  • Assist in automating detection and response workflows (e.g., scripting, tool integration)
  • Monitor security alerts and logs, escalate potential threats
  • Help maintain and update security documentation and playbooks
  • Support incident response activities, including investigation and documentation
  • Participate in red team activities (e.g., simulated attacks, testing defenses)
