About The Position

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections in protecting enterprise data, systems, and networks. This role offers a collaborative environment focused on proactive security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response to safeguard critical infrastructure. As a Cyber Security Engineer you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining security controls that protect organizational systems and data, while identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and partnering with technical teams to remediate risk across the environment.

Requirements

  • Experience planning, implementing, and managing enterprise security controls.
  • Experience responding to system and network security incidents.
  • Hands-on experience conducting vulnerability scans and security testing.
  • Experience analyzing vulnerability findings and prioritizing remediation efforts.
  • Knowledge of network, server, and endpoint security concepts.
  • Experience developing vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports.
  • Experience tuning vulnerability scanning tools to reduce false positives.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional IT and application teams on remediation efforts.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, standards, and risk-based vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect DRC data, systems, and networks.
  • Respond to system and network security breaches and support incident containment and remediation.
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities through scheduled and ad-hoc assessments.
  • Perform vulnerability scans across networks, servers, and endpoints.
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation based on risk and exploitability.
  • Partner with IT infrastructure and application teams to coordinate remediation efforts and verify fixes.
  • Evaluate organizational security needs and establish best practices and security standards.
  • Tune vulnerability scans to reduce false positives and improve accuracy.
  • Develop vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level security reports.
  • Take appropriate security measures to ensure infrastructure and existing data remain secure.
