These critical roles serve as the essential link between the Chief ZT Architect and the 12 Zero Trust Implementation Plan (IPlan) execution teams, ensuring the successful integration and implementation of the USSOCOM Zero Trust transformation (PoP through FY27). The Cyber Integration Engineers are responsible for tackling complex cross-IPlan integration challenges, developing detailed architectural artifacts, and providing "surgical augmentation" (targeted, expert-level engineering support) to engineering teams to overcome technical roadblocks. You will ensure that the strategic architectural vision is translated into cohesive, implementable solutions across the enterprise, including specialized SOF tactical environments.

Requirements

  • Senior-level Cybersecurity or Systems Security Engineering experience supporting DoD enterprise or operational environments, with direct involvement in architecture, integration, or engineering activities.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Zero Trust (ZT) architectures, including integration across multiple ZT pillars (e.g., ICAM, Network/Environment, Data, Application, Device, Visibility & Analytics).
  • Strong background in Systems Security Engineering (SSE) principles and application of NIST SP 800-160 across the system development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex cross-system and cross-team integration challenges in large, federated environments.
  • Experience developing detailed architectural and engineering artifacts, such as: Interface Control Documents (ICDs) Integration patterns Sequence and data flow diagrams Technical specifications and design packages
  • Hands-on experience providing targeted engineering support (“surgical augmentation”) to technical teams to troubleshoot, unblock, and accelerate delivery.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise and operational network architectures, including segmentation, access control, identity federation, and secure data flows.
  • Experience operating in multi-cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, on-prem), including security integration considerations.
  • Familiarity with SOF, tactical, or constrained environments, including Tactical Edge and Disconnected, Intermittent, and Limited (DIL) bandwidth operations.
  • Experience supporting or participating in Architecture Review Boards (ARBs), technical design reviews, and solution validations.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate technical integration risks, dependencies, and interoperability challenges.
  • Experience developing or supporting integration test plans, validation procedures, and transition plans to sustainment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate strategic architectural intent into executable engineering solutions.
  • DoD 8140-aligned certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Security+, CASP+, cloud security certifications).
  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Chief ZT Architect and the 12 IPlan execution teams, ensuring alignment with the enterprise ZT Reference Architecture.
  • Analyze and resolve complex cross-pillar integration challenges (e.g., integrating ICAM solutions with Network Segmentation policies and Data Access controls).
  • Develop and deliver detailed architectural and engineering artifacts, including integration patterns, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), sequence diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Provide "surgical augmentation" to IPlan execution teams to overcome implementation roadblocks, troubleshoot complex issues, and accelerate delivery.
  • Ensure that Systems Security Engineering (SSE) principles (NIST 800-160) are applied throughout the system development lifecycle across all IPlans.
  • Validate integration feasibility and design patterns across diverse environments, including multi-cloud (AWS, Azure), hybrid, on-premises, and specialized SOF environments (Tactical Edge and Disconnected, Intermittent, and Limited (DIL) bandwidth operations).
  • Support the Chief Architect in conducting Architecture Review Boards (ARBs), technical deep dives, and solution validations.
  • Contribute to the development of Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and decision support materials.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to system integration, interoperability, and dependencies.
  • Evaluate proposed engineering solutions to determine the adequacy of the security design and ensure consistency with ZT principles.
  • Develop and document integration test plans and procedures to validate the interoperability and security of the ZT architecture.
  • Support the development of detailed transition plans for moving capabilities from the EDAT innovation phase to EOM sustainment.
