About The Position

The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Salary: Commensurate with experience. Job Description Summary: Performs complex information security program management work. Performs risk analysis, planning and budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to ensure security compliance. Ensures practices comply with policy and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
  • Eight years of relevant experience.
  • Skill to interpret and apply rules.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity operations and working knowledge of state, federal and international computing and telecommuting initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to multi-task and cooperatively work with others.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic planning actions and policy decisions. Assists with the analysis and definition of disaster recovery responsibilities and procedures.
  • Analyzes procedures and policies for security compliance. Directs the development and maintenance of information security policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the design of security controls. Prepares security documentation and justification.
  • Performs system and application security assessments and audits.
  • Analyzes and documents present and proposed systems in terms of risks, procedures, and policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
