About The Position

Hetherington Group seeks a Cyber Instructor to work as a full time contractor to support training delivery at the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This position operates within a government training environment focused on preparing students to perform effectively in real-world operational conditions. The Cyber Instructor delivers classroom and practical instruction in open-source research, publicly available information exploitation, digital reconnaissance techniques, and use of artificial intelligence in the digital environment supporting Special Warfare training for Multi Domain Operations (MDO). Instruction focuses on helping students understand and navigate the digital operating environment, identify and organize relevant information sources, and apply disciplined research tradecraft to support operational planning, decision making, force protection, and the development of a tactical common operating picture. Training emphasizes structured research methodology, critical thinking, and practical problem solving so students can translate digital information into operationally relevant insights that support mission planning and decision-making. The instructor also supports the government training mission through lesson delivery, student evaluation, and participation in curriculum maintenance activities consistent with the ADDIE instructional design framework.

Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification (experience managing VMware based training or laboratory environments preferred)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in cyber operations, intelligence analysis, digital investigations, open-source research, network analysis, or related operational or technical field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting open-source research or publicly available information (PAI) exploitation within digital information environments
  • Strong understanding of digital operating environments, operational security (OPSEC), and cyber threat awareness
  • Experience delivering technical instruction, mentoring, or training in cyber, intelligence, research, or operational disciplines
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical and analytical concepts to operational personnel and guide students through practical exercises and research methodologies
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to evaluate student work and provide clear instructional feedback

  • Prior instructional experience in Special Operations Forces (SOF) training environments
  • Experience conducting open-source research and digital reconnaissance

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and practical instruction in Open-Source Research (OSR) and Publicly Available Information (PAI) exploitation within the digital operating environment.
  • Train students in digital survey and reconnaissance techniques used to analyze adversarial networks and online environments.
  • Instruct students on digital force protection, operational security (OPSEC) practices, and responsible information use in cyberspace.
  • Teach research planning methods, structured information collection, and data organization techniques that support operational situational awareness.
  • Facilitate scenario-based exercises that integrate OSR methods with operational decision-making.
  • Evaluate student performance through written research products, practical exercises, and scenario-based assessments.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities including lesson updates, training material improvements, and instructional system design aligned with the ADDIE methodology.
  • Coordinate with government instructors and course managers to ensure instruction meets established training objectives and operational requirements.
