About The Position

As a Digital Instructor I at BJU Press, the ideal candidate will play a supporting role on the Digital Instruction team by delivering video instruction and supporting materials aligned with BJU Press educational content and production goals. This is not a remote position.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with fellow Press employees, including educators, writers, producers, and technical staff, to support and advance the company’s mission.
  • Practical understanding of educational best practices, with particular sensitivity to the unique needs and context of home educators and independent learners.
  • Deep understanding of and alignment with the BJU Press educational philosophy, ensuring instructional integrity and consistency across content delivery.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and professionally to both students and team members.
  • Ability to deliver content clearly, energetically, and articulately on camera, while thoughtfully anticipating student questions and maintaining a conversational tone.
  • Capacity to thrive in a creative, fast-paced, and team-oriented production environment, contributing ideas while respecting diverse roles and feedback.
  • Proactive in developing original, engaging instructional presentations while adhering to established curriculum goals and standards.
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity in bridging the gap between print curriculum and video-lesson delivery, thoughtfully enhancing student engagement and comprehension while maintaining fidelity to the company’s brand, educational philosophy, and product distinctives.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet production deadlines and manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintains a current knowledge and understanding of instructional best practices, video-based pedagogy, and educational technology through training, collaboration, and self-directed learning.
  • Master’s degree in relevant creative discipline OR Bachelor’s degree with 2+ YOE OR 4+YOE in a creative discipline OR equivalent demonstrated aptitude
  • An applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group — Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press — must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Responsibilities

  • Adapt BJU Press textbook strategies, content, and constructive input from team members into clear, engaging, and pedagogically-sound video instruction.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that the BJU Press brand distinctives are achieved in the instructional delivery.
  • Plan and structure lesson content to ensure a smooth flow and logical progression in the delivery of engaging video instruction.
  • Prepare students to achieve the established learning objectives.
  • Offer recommendations for assessments tailored to the video course
  • Using templates develop course-specific documents which will support parent educators.
  • Review segments to ensure accuracy of educational content and that they are age appropriate.
  • Achieve production targets established by the Project Management team.
