About The Position

The Food Service Assistant at UW-Stevens Point's Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES) plays a vital role in supporting food production and service operations. Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, this position involves assisting with food preparation, seasonal grilling, and maintaining cleanliness in food service areas. The assistant will work with various groups, including summer campers and university students, and will be required to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Willingness to become SERV Safe certified.
• Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare food accurately.
• Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a kitchen or dining setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity food production and seasonal grilling.
• Prepare dining stations by unloading food products and necessary equipment.
• Clean food stations, carts, pots, and pans as needed.
• Support food preparation, service, and sanitation as directed by the supervisor.
