About The Position

A large, full-service acute care hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking an experienced CVOR Tech III (Tier 3) to support advanced cardiovascular and hybrid surgical services. The facility offers comprehensive specialty care and operates as part of a multi-hospital healthcare system known for clinical excellence and patient-centered care. The CVOR Tech III (Tier 3) is a senior-level surgical technologist who serves as a lead and expert resource within the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This role supports complex, high-risk cardiovascular and endovascular procedures and provides mentorship to other surgical technologists. The CVOR Tech III performs both first and second scrub roles, ensuring safe and effective surgical care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of CVOR and endovascular/hybrid OR experience
  • Ability to function as lead technologist in specialty areas including: Robotic Surgery Total Joint procedures Neuro/Spine Burn Vascular Surgery
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similarly sized facility with comparable service lines
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT) program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST – NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C – NCCT)
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • Strong organizational and technical skills
  • Proficiency with advanced wire techniques
  • Team-oriented and able to perform in fast-paced, high-acuity environments

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures
  • Handle instruments, supplies, and specialized cardiovascular OR equipment
  • Anticipate surgeon needs during complex cardiovascular and hybrid procedures
  • Assist with sponging, suctioning, cutting sutures, retracting, and endoscopic camera manipulation
  • Support endovascular and hybrid OR cases
  • Serve as lead technologist for high-acuity specialty procedures
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection prevention standards
  • Mentor and support surgical technologists and OR staff
