Through our Hendrix and Kerite brands, we have over 200 years of combined expertise in strengthening the electric grid. We are expanding and hiring operators in Milford, NH, Amherst, NH, and Seymour, CT. This role is for a skilled and dedicated CV Operator to join the CV department at our Seymour power cable manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the extrusion process, ensuring smooth operations, and upholding high-quality standards in power cable production.

Requirements

  • Skilled and dedicated CV Operator
  • Ability to set up and maintain extruder and equipment
  • Proficiency in material handling (loading/unloading compound, feeding material)
  • Ability to monitor operator screen for specifications and tolerances
  • Skills in quality control (inspecting cables for consistency and defects)
  • Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines
  • Ability to maintain accurate production records
  • Troubleshooting operational issues

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up extruder and equipment for cable production.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Load and unload compound boxes/crates onto compound stands.
  • Ensure the correct material strips are being fed to minimize tangling and production errors.
  • Continuously monitor the operator screen for specs and tolerances to ensure adherence to production specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect cables for consistency and defects as they are coming out of the extruder.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to address any issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any hazards or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment status, and any maintenance performed.
  • Submit reports as required by management.
  • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot any operational issues that arise, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production.
